Frequently Asked Questions about Visiting UO

Who can attend your campus visits?

Our visit programs are ideal for prospective undergraduate students and their families/guests. We welcome prospective students of any age or stage in the college search process. Prospective graduate students are also welcome to attend a campus visit, though we also recommend connecting with your specific academic department. Independent educational consultants, new faculty/staff members, alumni, and others who are not interested in enrolling at the UO should contact visit@uoregon.edu for tour options.

When should I visit the UO?

View our visit calendar and select a day and time that works for you. If possible, we recommend visiting on a weekday when classes are in session for the most comprehensive tour. Building access may be limited during weekends, winter break, spring break, and summertime.

How far in advance should I schedule my visit?

When possible, we prefer visitors to schedule at least two to four weeks in advance. However, we do our best to accommodate visitors on short notice. Registration typically opens no more than two to three months in advance of the visit date.

Can I attend a campus visit as a “drop-in” without registering in advance?

We prefer that all visitors register on our website before taking a guided tour. Generally, we do not accept visit reservations over the phone. Drop-in attendees without a reservation may be invited to join a guided tour on a space-available basis or take the self-guided tour on the UOregon app or visit.uoregon.edu/selftour.

How will I know you received my tour or event registration?

Once the registration form is submitted, prospective students and their guests will receive parking instructions and other important arrival details via email.

How can I change or cancel my scheduled visit?

To change or cancel your scheduled visit, please use the link in your confirmation email.

What if I want to visit at a time when tours are not available?

Check back regularly as new tour times may be added! If not, check out the self-guided tour on the UOregon app or visit.uoregon.edu/selftour.

How can I meet with a coach from UO Athletics?

To find contact information for specific teams or coaches, please visit goducks.com. You may also contact the Athletics Department at 541-346-4481.

Can I take a tour of Autzen Stadium, Hayward Field, or Matthew Knight Arena?

Tours of athletic facilities are not included on our regular tour route. Hayward Field's museum is open to the public Tuesday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. You may contact the UO Athletic Department at 541-346-4481 to inquire about tours of other UO athletic facilities.

How can I arrange a tour of another UO campus?

Schedule a tour of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston on the OIMB website. For UO Portland, contact the specific academic program of interest.

Do you offer overnight stays in the residence halls?

A sample residence hall room is showcased on campus tours, but no overnight guests are allowed during the academic year. The UO has several partner hotels that we recommend. Groups visiting in the summertime may contact Conference Services to discuss on-campus options.

I am a high school teacher or counselor planning a tour for a group of my students. How can I arrange that?

If you want to schedule a tour, please visit our Group Visits page and submit our form or email visit@uoregon.edu. If you are interested in a virtual option, you can browse pre-recorded tours at virtual.uoregon.edu.

Can I bring pets to campus?

The UO Animal Control policy states that no pets are allowed inside campus buildings. However, service animals are allowed.

What if I am unable to travel to campus for a tour?

We encourage you to check out our Virtual Visits website as well as our UO360 app to explore campus virtually.
