Come breathe in the beautiful arboretum-like campus, take part in catalytic learning experiences led by dynamic faculty, and interact with current UO students.
What is Duck Preview? Who should attend?
Duck Preview is a fall open house designed to give high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students a head start on the college search process.
At Duck Preview, you'll:
- Take a campus tour led by an experienced UO student ambassador
- Learn what a liberal arts education embedded in a top-tier research university can do for you
- Explore your academic interests with outstanding UO faculty
- Hear about dozens of ways to get involved in campus life beyond the classroom
- Discover numerous services designed to support student success
- Speak with admissions counselors, financial aid and academic advisors, and housing representatives
- See how UO students are changing the world
When is Duck Preview?
Duck Preview events will be held on select Fridays throughout October (specific dates TBA). Registration will open in August.
What is on the tentative agenda?
8:00 a.m.—9:00 a.m. Optional Campus Tour
9:00 a.m.—10:00 a.m. Program Check-In
10:00 a.m.—10:45 a.m. Welcome!
10:45 a.m.—11:30 a.m. Academic Exploration Session
11:30 a.m.—1:00 p.m. Information Fair and Lunch on your own
1:00 p.m.—2:00 p.m. Catalytic Learning Sessions – take part in an active learning experience and see what it’s like to attend a lecture led by UO faculty.
2:00 p.m.—4:00 p.m. Concurrent sessions – during this time guests will have the opportunity to meet with various offices around campus and take part in a myriad of campus and departmental tours.
After we receive your registration, we'll send you a letter confirming your attendance at Duck Preview. We will also include a map of campus, parking directions, and information about where to stay.
